The Hawaiian Volcano Observatory (HVO) reported that the effusive eruption within the Halemaʻumaʻu crater ceased.
The lava supply stopped to be active some time on 7 March based on lava lake levels and the crater floor's behavior.
Sulfur dioxide (SO2) emissions have decreased to near pre-eruption background levels.
The seismic activity and ground deformation remain restless.
A resurgence of eruptive activity might appear in the near future with little or no warning.
Thus, the volcano observatory made the decision to lower the Volcanic Alert Level to "Yellow".
