Bulusan Volcano_Selective Activity News!

A spectacular violent explosion occurred at the volcano at 10:37 local time today.

A tall and dense ash column rose 1 km above the edifice and drifted west.
The event, visible by local observers in Juban, Casiguran, Sorsogon, lasted approx. 17 min. and was characterized as phreatic or hydrothermal, i.e. steam-driven blast of old solidified rock without new magma emerging.
Soon after the eruption, fine fresh ash deposits covered surfaces in the areas mentioned above.
Prior to the event, 77 quakes have been detected over the past 24 hours associated by long-lasting inflation since July 2020 hinting that volcanic gases have reached the shallow hydrothermal system.
Therefore, the volcano observatory PHILVOCS raised the alert status to Level 1.

Update 6/14:

What's happening?

I took some news for selective activity conds after  first infosharing about Bulusan...And,I witness to visual news of selective activity conds after a timeframe on weekscale😐

Abundant gas and steam-laden emissions started to emit from summit vents since early this morning about 04:30 local time and most likely are still continuing at the time of this update.
At about 09:00 local time, some amount of ash was being observed in the plume which turned into increased emissions, later reported as light ash rain in Catanusan, Juban and Sorsogon provinces and on the upper NW flanks.
Plume heights have varied between 400 and 750 meters above the Blackbird Crater.
