New volcanic development from Tonga Geography

The Tonga Geological Services (TGS) reported that a new submarine eruption at the volcano started on 10 September at 01:39 local time judging from a gas column detected in satellite images.

The ongoing submarine activity resulted to form of a new volcano island at 12:59 PM local time with a diameter of about 70 meters emerging approx. 10 meters above sea level.
Gas emissions rose about 1 km above the sea.
A thermal anomaly has been detected in a satellite image on 13 September.

Update 9/19:

The eruptive activity at the volcano slowly decreased.
Only two eruptions occurred within the last 24 hours compared to 11 explosions in the past 48 hours.
Emissions of steam and gas continue to emit up to 1 km above the fumarolic vents and currently dominate the volcano.
Lava flows continue to build the island which is measured by 182 meters arranged in the north-south direction and by 173 meters in the east-west direction with a total surface area of about 6 acres and estimated height of 10 meters above sea level.
