Dukono Volcano

Visual field observations of the volcano during the past few days from our expedition leader and guide from VolcanoDiscovery Indonesia, Andi Volcanist, reported a powerful explosion yesterday.

An increasingly grey ash-abundant plume was seen rising to an estimated 3 km height. The Volcanic Ash Advisory Center (VAAC) Darwin detected ash emissions dispersing W-NW.
The current explosive eruption activity might come from intense volcano-tectonic earthquakes.
