Bardarbunga News

Kristín Jónsdóttir from the Icelandic Met Office reported on her Twitter account that two volcano-tectonic earthquakes with magnitude M 4.9 and M 4.4 occurred beneath the Bárðarbunga caldera.

GPS, tiltmeter and all seismic data confirm that the volcano continues to inflate since the end of the Holuhraun eruption (Feb 2015). Such ground deformation episodes are nothing unusual and can vary for decades without eruption.
