Taal Volcano_Selective Activity News

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) observed a significant degassing activity at the volcano last night.

The local observatory's surveillance cameras detected gas-steam abundant plumes rising from the crater lake which rose 4,000 ft (1,200 m) above it and drifted southwest.
An elevated sulfur dioxide (SO2) emissions reached to a 15,990 tonnes/day on 9 March and likely reflect reaching the shallow hydrothermal system by degassing.
The last maximum Main Crater Lake temperature reached to a 63.7°C on 25 February.
Electronic tiltmeter and GPS measurements continue to detect deflation since October last year.
No volcanic earthquakes have been detected during t24 hours between 9-10 Mar.
The alert level for the volcano remains at Level 2.
