A series of strong phreatic-type explosions occurred at the volcano at 05:26, 07:47, 08:09, 09:55 and 14:37 local time yesterday.

Intense eruptions took place from the crater vent sending tall and dense ash columns between 1,800 m-2,800 m (5,900 ft-9,200 ft) height. Soon after the eruptions, moderately strong ash rain of lapilli set in, covering the edifice's east surface.
The PVMBG volcano observatory reported a seismic signal with a maximum amplitude of 56,57 and 60 mm and a duration of 176, 49, 122, 104 and 114 seconds.
