Krakatau-Selective Activity News

The explosive eruption at the volcano continues.

Two vulcanian-type explosions occurred from the crater, at 15:40 yesterday and 09:26 local time today, generating dense grey ash columns which reached 6,000 ft (1,800 m) and 3,000 ft (914 m) and drifted NW and SW.
Incandescence at the Anak Krakatau island is seen visible from a cloud-free satellite image on 2 August, suggesting an elevated activity over the past week.
