Karymsky volcano (Kamchatka): powerful explosion today

A vigorous vulcanian eruption occurred from the volcano's summit crater today.

According to the local observatory, a spectacular dense ash-rich plume was seen rising up to 10 km altitude from Kronotskiy Zaliv and extended about 29 km to the NE of the volcano.
Stronger eruptions are being occurred from time to time, the general activity of the volcano continues at moderate levels though.
