A stronger-than-usual explosion occurred at the volcano at 08:37 local time this morning.

The Volcanic Ash Advisory Center Darwin (VAAC) registered a plume of ash that rose to an altitude of 10,000 ft (3,048 m) and drifted west.


Update 4/25:




Strong vulcanian activity continues at the volcano.
A powerful explosion took place from its crater at 09:48 local time this morning, which generated an increasingly rising grey ash plume to 4,3 km altitude extended to the west.
A night-time glowing steam from the last night may indicate rise of magma.
