new effusive eruption started at the volcano at 23:20 local time yesterday after 7 years of relative calm period.

The IGEPN's seismic network detected a seismic swarm at around 21:35 local time followed by a volcano-tectonic earthquake with magnitude M 2.4. The activity intensified an hour and a half later, at 23:15 local time, accompanied by a rising signal of volcanic tremor indicating rapid magma flux towards the surface.
new fissure chain of vents opened on the southern-southwestern flank of the volcano and started to erupt spectacular lava fountains feeding new lava flows.
Gas and ash emissions continue to rise to an altitude between 1,900 m and 3,800 m and due to prevailing wind, they drift to the northeast and west direction.
The warning bulletin states that eventual water-magma interaction may generate acid steam and violent explosions at the sea entry and people are advised to avoid approaching the lava flow.
The Wolf volcano is the highest volcano of the Galápagos Islands, straddles the equator at the north end of the archipelago's largest island, Isabela. The 1710-m-high edifice has steeper slopes than most other Isabela volcanoes.

 Update 1/10:

The effusive eruption of the volcano continues dominated by lava fountains from several fissure vents.
Lava flows continue to be active on the south-southeast-to-east flanks of the volcano and slowly advancing to the Pacific ocean. The lava continues to generate emissions of gas and steam that rising about 700 meters above the sea level.
According to MIROVA Detection System, a very high thermal anomaly (5900 MW) continues to detect in satellite images today associated with lava flows.

Update  1/12:

Minister Gustavo Manrique from the Ministry of the Environment, Water and Ecological Transition of Ecuador made an overflight through the current eruption site today to confirm the continuing effusive activity at the volcano.
Active lava flows have continued to advance towards the eastern direction over the past 24 hours and are about less than 5 kilometers to the ocean entry.
15 kilometers long lava flows continue to travel through old lava flow fields and the origin and endemic vegetation.
According to MIROVA Detection System, an extreme thermal anomaly (16,000 MW-18,000 MW) was detected in satellite images yesterday.

Update 1/13:

Hawaiian-type activity continues.
Two active eruptive fissures continue to keep the lava flow active while the highest vent shows signs of inactivity.
The total length of the lava flow is about 16,5 km (from blue triangle/inactive vent) and 15 km length of the active flow (from purple triangles/active vents) and haven't reached the sea entry yet. According to the latest official data, the area covered by lava flows amounts to 7,6 km per square in total.

Update 1/18:

The effusive eruption of the volcano continues.
A satellite image from 16 January identified that the lava flow, being active from two eruptive fissures, branched off into two lava arms traveling east. The larger (northern) lava tongue didn't make it to the sea yet, 2 kilometers have been leaving to the ocean entry.
According to MIROVA Detection System, extreme thermal anomalies (14000 MW-17000 MW) continue to detect in satellite images.
