Ibu volcano (Halmahera, Indonesia): ongoing eruptions

 


The activity of the volcano has remained essentially unchanged characterized by intermittent vulcanian-type explosions.
An explosion at the volcano produced a dense grey ash plume this morning at 10:48 local time, which reached approx. 7,600 ft (2,325 m) altitude and drifted south.
The local volcano observatory reported a seismic signal with a maximum amplitude of 28 mm and a duration of 60 seconds.
